You could say Curt has insurance in his blood. His grandparents started the agency he now leads, and he’s learned most aspects of the business from firsthand experience. In the process, Curt earned his CPCU credential (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) as well as many industry accolades and awards. A graduate of Michigan State University, Curt cut his teeth working summers at the agency and working his way up. He’s been Autumn’s CEO for 23 years, and enjoys empowering a team of industry-leading pros who’ve radically increased the firm’s market share. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and boating.

An insurance industry veteran of over 30 years, Charles joined Autumn in 1999. Before that, he was an underwriter and trainer for both Safeco and Citizens insurance. This background gave him a unique perspective on the full process of insurance — expertise he now uses to best protect his clients. Today, Charles will gladly put that knowledge to work for you. A grad of Liberty University, his hobbies include fishing, shooting, and golf. Travels have taken him from Cape Town, South Africa to Vienna, Austria.

With hobbies like traveling, hiking and kayaking, it’s not surprising that Sue’s dream is to visit all 60 of America’s national parks.

Dan’s experience ranges from real estate development and construction, high net worth homes to retail and manufacturing risks. His passion for sports keeps him involved with his family and locally in the community and charitable organizations.

As a graduate of Central Michigan University, Joe began his insurance career as a Claims Adjuster with GAB Business Services. He then spent 11 years as an Insurance Repair Contractor before joining the Baty Insurance Agency as junior partner. After becoming President, Joe remained at Baty for 20 years and later joined Autumn in 2022. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family. One day, he would like to travel to Italy to explore his family heritage.

As the great grandson of our company’s founder, and a 4th generation insurance agent, Evan grew up with an appreciation for the industry. In 2023, he joined what he calls “a true team” at Autumn. When Evan isn’t helping you with your healthcare needs, you might find him rooting for the Detroit Lions, playing music, golfing, and supporting local charities. One day, he would like to tee off at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland, where the game was invented!

After working as a licensed account manager in Massachusetts, she returned to Michigan and obtained her Michigan insurance license. Shelly enjoys working with people and strives to give each client the finest and most effective customer service. Her outside interests include gardening and photography.

Jan learned the trade as a student working summers at her parent’s agency. Joining their firm in 1991 led to positions with larger agencies, developing coverage strategies for top business clients. She earned her Master’s in Organizational Administration at Central University, but she’s a big Spartan fan. When not reading or knitting, she’s “favorite aunt” to 10 nieces and nephews (and 27 great-nieces and nephews!).

A self-described “adrenaline junky,” she plans to try skydiving someday.

She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a double major in communications and theatre arts. Her hobbies include acting, directing, writing, singing, crocheting, painting, hiking and baking. One day she’d love to perform in a show at the National Theatre in London.

Susan enjoys educating clients on the many options and coverages available so she can then customize a plan for them. Her outside interests include bowling, biking, and playing bridge. Susan’s favorite pastime is spoiling her grandchild.

Heather loves spending time with her family and especially looks forward to the summer trips that they take to Mackinac Island. One day, Heather would like to travel to Scotland where her extended family lives.

Outside of work, you will likely find him enjoying a good barbeque, an action-packed Marvel movie, rooting for the Detroit Pistons, or planning for the tour he’d like to take across Europe.

As Autumn’s Integrator, Michelle implements EOS principles and disciplines to strengthen the agency relationships, systems and accountabilities. Her goal is world-class service that makes Autumn’s clients feel secure and confident in their insurance choices. Prior to Autumn, she worked in manufacturing,
excelling in various capacities — including operations, information technology, and human resources. She earned her MBA from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State, and a BA from Oakland University. She enjoys playing golf, and is still waiting for her first hole-in-one.

her aim is to provide accurate back-office support to the agents and staff so they can deliver the best client service. A Red Wings hockey fan, Lori also loves dancing — she’s learning country and ballroom.
